HEAD BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU COACH / CO-OWNER
Joshua “Arcos” Smith started his journey in Jiu Jitsu in November of 2008 and is currently a Purple Belt, which he received from World Champion Helio Soneca. He is the head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach at Mission Submissions and is extremely passionate about teaching others both for competition and self-defense. Arcos has dedicated his life to help spread the art, believing that Jiu Jitsu can truly make a positive change in people both on and off the mats!
Arcos is originally from Mobile, Alabama and has been training in Martial Arts from the age of six. He holds a Black belt in Southern Fist Kung Fu (Wu Zu) and has a background in Kickboxing. Currently, he is ranked under Professor Suzanne Ramsden in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since April 9th, 2018.
Coach Arcos has coached many competitors to victory including IBJJF champions, state champions, and miscellaneous Jiu Jitsu super fight champions in both gi and Nogi grappping competitions. He has also cornered a few amateur fighters to victory in MMA competition inside the cage. He is extremely dedicated to both his work as a martial arts teacher and his students.
